North Eastern National Polytechnic (NENAP) is anchored and operationalized through the TVET Act 2013 and the legal order No. 89 0f 2016. Its mandate is derived from the TVET Act, 2013 and it is responsible for offering skill development programmes to youths and adults in technical, commercial and scientific fields relevant to satisfy the needs of the national economy. NENAP, like any other TVET institution in Kenya, has a mandate to produce quality skilled human resources with the right attitudes and values required for growth and prosperity of the various sectors of the economy. In line with its mandate, the institution’s core function is to produce skilled artisans, craftsmen, technicians, and technologists in building and civil engineering, mechanical engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, information Communication Technology and Clothing and Textiles Technology through practical training and work experiences. In addition, NENAP has a mandate to collaborate with industry and commerce to plan and implement programmes that facilitate the acquisition of appropriate knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for the development of self and the nation.
