About
KMAT Housing Co-operative Society Limited was founded and registered on the 18th January, 2013, in accordance with the Co-operative Societies Act No. 12 of 1997 (Amended 2004).
The primary objectives behind the formation of the Society were:
a) To provide for its members living, commercial accommodation and livelihood within the area of its operation at a fair and reasonable price together with such ancillary services as roads, drainage, water and light.
b) To provide facilities for physical, cultural recreation and all such other matters as are usual, customary and desirous for building estates, blocks of flats or single dwellings
During the registration, the need for accommodation in Kenya had greatly surpassed the available housing units with the cost of land and houses going beyond reach of many workers in Kenya.
