About
SJH was started in 2004 from a Home-Based Health care program: an effort by St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Kahawa Sukari to witness Christ’s hope through the provision of integrated health services to the community. It is located at the center of Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County, a very populated area with an average-age 18 years old. It serves the communities of Githurai, Mwihoko and Kahawa Sukari.
SJH counts of 21 staff, among them 5 nurses, 2 Clinical Officer, a pharmacist, and three specialists composed of a gynecologist, a sonographer and a psychologist. From October 2020, a maternity ward was inaugurated; this was made possible due to the efforts of all the staff and the donations received by many friends. SJH is a non-profit Health Centre and financially independent from St. Joseph Catholic Church – Kahawa Sukari.
Our Mission
Everybody gets sick. Only a few people in Kenya are able to get the chance of high-quality care treatment. Usually, it does cost a lot.
We believe that is possible to provide everyone with high-quality medical services, through professionalism, honesty and generosity. St. Joseph Hospital – Kahawa Wendani offers a range of services with particular attention to pregnant ladies.
We want to care for the sick person as if he was Jesus himself.
Our Vision
To be known by our community as the hospital in which all people can access to medical services.
Motto
Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.
Serving Christ through serving people.
